And love this piece too.
Hey, ever seen the movie The She Creature? It's about mermaids but a horror movie. In it, mermaids eat human flesh.
I did some research and found that some legends believed mermaids to be good and gentle and others believed mermaids to lure men to their deaths, and still others believed they did eat people.

Yes I have read some similar stories. Often they are portrayed as Sirens, leading sailors to the watery embrace of 'davey jones's locker'. Unless of course you are watching disney...lol
